Welcome to the Blue Economy, Brooklawn Park, and Plastic Project!
About us
We are Professor Kulick’s spring 2025 honors Sustainability 101 class from University of Massachusetts Dartmouth. Throughout the semester we have been learning about sustainable practices, and being mindful about them. We have engaged in various class trips to help get involved and make a difference locally, while learning about how sustainability is an important aspect in every facet of our life.
The first trip we participated in was located at Fort Phoenix State Reservation, in Fairhaven Massachusetts. During our time there we focused on cleaning up the local environment, with a focus on the beach.
The second trip we participated in was located at Sharing the Harvest Community Farm, in Dartmouth Massachusetts. This community farm is associated with the Southcoast YMCA. It is a volunteer farm which focuses on donating food to those who need it most. During our time there, we assisted with planting peas.
Our goal
This project serves as our final project for the course, and our goal for it is to raise awareness about the Blue Economy, Brooklawn Park, and plastic. Education is extremely important, especially with regards to sustainability related topics. Thus, we wanted to help make a positive impact and inform others.
